Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)

Pink eye is an infection or inflammation of the conjunctiva—the clear tissue covering the white part of the eye. In adults, it is most often caused by a virus. In children, bacterial causes are more common. Allergies and environmental irritants can also trigger symptoms.

Common Symptoms Include:

• Eye redness

• Clear or thick (gunky) discharge

• Burning or irritation

• Itching
