Virtual urgent care can help evaluate and manage common, non-emergency joint and back pain, offering guidance, treatment options, and next steps when appropriate.

Virtual Care May Be a Good Fit If:

• You are 18–64 years old

• You are experiencing a commonly treated, non-emergency condition

When Virtual Care Is Not Appropriate:

• You are experiencing emergency symptoms such as:

• Severe abdominal pain

• Trouble breathing

• You need lab tests or imaging (including X-rays)

• You need a referral to a medical specialist

• You are experiencing ear pain or a possible ear infection

• You have uncontrolled mental health symptoms

• You have had diarrhea for longer than 7 days

• You are pregnant

• You are male and experiencing urinary symptoms

Medications Providers Will Not Prescribe:

Controlled or Restricted Medications

• Controlled substances (e.g., Ambien)

• Anti-anxiety benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax)

• ADHD medications (e.g., Adderall)

Mental Health Medications

• Antipsychotics (e.g., Seroquel, Abilify)

• New mental health prescriptions or renewals for conditions other than anxiety or depression

(e.g., bipolar disorder or schizophrenia)

Note: One-time GLP-1 renewals taken within the past 14 days may be requested through the GLP-1 renewal page.

Other Exclusions

• Nerve pain medications (e.g., gabapentin)

• Oral steroids (e.g., prednisone)

• Ivermectin when not indicated for a parasitic infection

• Alcohol use disorder medications (e.g., Antabuse, naltrexone)
